American Legion National Commander Dan K. Wiley placed a memorial wreath and spoke at the Eighth Air Force Monument in La Fiere Bridge Memorial Park in Normandy, France. Of the many places he visited and ceremonies he participated in, this monument overlooking the Mederet River plain had special meaning for Wiley.
